Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy is an Allied health profession that helps people across the life span be functional and independent in activities that they need to do or want to do, through the use of occupations. Occupational Therapy Professional is a person who delivers client-centred services concerned with promoting health and well-being through occupation to enable people to participate in the activities of everyday life. Occupational Therapists achieve this outcome by working with people and communities to enhance their ability to engage in the occupations they are expected to do, or by modifying the occupation or the environment to better support their occupational engagement.
Occupational therapists work with people suffering from physical, psychological, social and cognitive disabilities. The goal of an occupational therapist is to improve the Quality of Life of any given individual. This can be done by restoring function, teaching new skills, preventing a difficulty from occurring or training to maintain skills.
