Regional Institute for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (RIPMR) started working in 2013 under the Directorate of Social Justice, Government of Kerala. Previously this institute was run as a therapy institution by a private charitable society.

Under the present operational status, RIPMR is dedicated to the rehabilitation of persons with primarily physical/loco motor disabilities. Children with cerebral palsy, multiple disabilities and adults with muscular or orthopaedic dysfunctions are treated by degreed physiotherapy professionals as per standard physiotherapy principles of practice.

Those customers who come for physiotherapy treatment may also have associated speech and hearing impairment and hence audiology testing, speech diagnostics and speech therapy services are also provided.

Psychological counselling and therapy services are also provided for the customers as necessary.
